The screen-sharing boundary

Open Presenter View from the dropdown beside Present, then share only the audience-facing presentation.Gamma keeps notes out of the public presentation, but sharing the Presenter View itself can expose them.

A suspicious person with messy hair peers around a presentation board while holding a large stopwatch.
Check the audience view, share only the presentation, and monitor your timing as you advance.

Our suggested rehearsal before sharing

  • Add a harmless, distinctive note such as “PAUSE — ask for questions” to your first card.
  • Choose the audience-facing presentation in your meeting’s sharing selector. Keep the notes view outside the selected sharing area.
  • Inspect the audience’s received view, ideally with a colleague in a rehearsal call. Ask whether the distinctive note is visible.
  • Advance one card, make a small notes edit, and check the received view again.
  • If the note appears, stop sharing and change the selected sharing area before trying again.

When to stop checking

Our suggested stopping point: the audience sees the intended cards, your test note stays absent, and you can advance and edit comfortably. If you cannot confirm that boundary, keep sharing stopped until you can. Repeat the check if you change the sharing selection.

That clause concerns content transmitted through Gamma. The help article’s narrower assurance concerns what presentation viewers see; it should not be read as a general confidentiality guarantee for notes stored in the service.
