The direct answer
On Gamma Pro or above, connect a separate subdomain such as gamma.yourdomain.com to keep your main website in place.Add that address in Site Settings, complete automatic or manual DNS setup, then click Publish once the domain connects.Source: Can I change the domain of my Gamma site? · 2026-09-22
Suggested address plan
For example, reserve gamma.yourdomain.com for Gamma and leave yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com with your existing website. Before starting, save a copy of your current DNS records. Review any proposed automatic changes; stop if they would alter the addresses you intend to keep.
- 1. Open the domain controlsOpen your Gamma site and choose the top-right three-dot menu → Site settings. Gamma’s newer setup guide places domain controls under Settings → Publishing & Domains; its domain guide calls this the Domains tab.
- 2. Add the complete subdomainChoose Add custom domain or Add domain and enter your chosen address. Select Automatic Setup and follow the prompts, or choose Manual Setup.
- 3. Complete DNS setupFor manual setup, copy the records Gamma supplies into your domain registrar’s DNS settings. Gamma’s manual setup form displays the values; you enter them at the registrar, not in that form.

Our suggested safeguard: use the records generated for your chosen subdomain, rather than copying a generic root-domain example. If the requested changes appear to replace your main website’s records, pause and ask your DNS administrator or Gamma support to review them.
Gamma documents up to 24 hours for domain verification and SSL activation. Its publishing guide also explains that SSL issuance can take a few hours after verification. Once the domain is connected, click Publish to put the site live at the new address.

A security warning immediately after verification can mean SSL is still being issued. Gamma suggests retrying later or checking in a private browser window. If the warning remains more than 24 hours after verification, contact Gamma support for a certificate-status check. That is an escalation point, not a guaranteed repair time.

Our suggested stopping check
- Open the new HTTPS subdomain and confirm it shows the intended Gamma site without a security warning.
- Open your main website’s usual addresses and confirm they still show the original website.
- If both checks pass, stop editing DNS. If you escalate, include the subdomain, verification time and exact warning.

This publishing requirement concerns rights to the content you publish; connecting your own subdomain does not replace it.
