SoundCloud Go+: $10.99, and a '50% Off' That Doesn't Add Up
Go+ is listed at $10.99 a month, Go at $4.99 and Student at $5.99. Here's what each plan includes, and why the student math looks off.

On October 13, 2026, SoundCloud's official plans page lists Go+ at $10.99 a month, Go at $4.99 a month and the Student plan at $5.99 a month.Those are the prices SoundCloud advertises, not a checkout quote. What the $10.99 actually buys
In the fan section of the plans page, Go+ lists five things: ad-free listening, unlimited offline saves, full catalog access, mixing tracks in select DJ apps and high-quality audio. SoundCloud's Go+ page adds detail. It cites about 100 million tracks from major and independent labels plus about 400 million uploaded directly by artists, along with DJ sets, demos and early uploads, fan-to-artist DMs and comments, and fan-powered royalties. In its own comparison table, SoundCloud lists Go+ audio as 256kbps AAC. The student page also mentions Rekordbox and Serato integration, plus CarPlay and Android Auto.

Here's my take. Go+ isn't a Spotify replacement with a SoundCloud logo on it. You're paying for the stuff no other service has: bootleg edits, DJ sets, demos that never get an official release. If your listening is all chart albums, you're paying a premium to hear them at 256kbps AAC, which is honestly a hard sell next to services that promote lossless. If your listening lives in the underground, it's the only subscription that makes sense.
Go vs Go+: the $6 question
SoundCloud's plans page gives the $4.99 Go plan ad-free listening, unlimited offline saves, full catalog access and high-quality audio. Based on that list, the visible extra in Go+ is mixing in select DJ apps. The trials differ too: the page offers 7 days free for Go and 30 days for Go+. Under the Go terms, you get one Go trial, one Go+ trial and one DJ trial per user per year, and you're charged automatically when the trial ends.

Go is underrated, and SoundCloud's marketing makes it hard to see why. If you never open Rekordbox or Serato, read the feature lists side by side before paying more than double. Want to make it a fight? Go+ is what DJs pay for. Go is what listeners should probably pay for.
The student plan: '50% off' that isn't half
The Student plan is headlined "SoundCloud Go+ for 50% off" and shows $5.99 a month. SoundCloud's help center says Go+ Student users get the same features as regular Go+ and "only pay half the price." But $5.99 is more than half of the $10.99 Go+ price shown on the same page. We can't tell which figure is wrong, whether that's the label, the price, or something regional. Don't assume you'll pay either number until checkout shows it.

Student plan rules, per SoundCloud's help center
- Verification is handled by SheerID, and SoundCloud says it can't override SheerID's decisions.
- Eligibility is limited to students at Title IV degree-granting colleges/universities or post-secondary schools.
- Student subscriptions are valid for 12 months, for up to 4 consecutive terms.
- You must reverify every year. If you don't, renewal reverts to the full price.
- Once you're no longer a student, renewals move to the standard Go+ price unless you cancel.

Set a reminder
Put your reverification date in your calendar the day you sign up. The help center says SheerID sends reminder emails, but a missed email can mean a full-price renewal.
The fine print that matters
Your subscription will automatically renew for successive Subscription Periods of the same length unless cancelled

This clause is why the price on the plans page isn't the end of the story. Your plan keeps renewing at whatever the current price is until you cancel. The terms also say SoundCloud will give at least six weeks' notice of price increases or material feature reductions. Those changes apply only to renewals after the notice period, and you can cancel before they take effect. The terms allow cancellation at any time, and they accept only cards issued in territories where the subscription is available.

My verdict: $10.99 is fair if you're actually using the DJ integrations or digging through uploads you can't find anywhere else. If you're not, Go is the better buy. And SoundCloud should fix the student page. Advertising '50% off' next to a number that isn't half is exactly the kind of thing that erodes trust in an otherwise decent offer.
