Hi-res listening for people who own the gear
In 2026 Qobuz is mostly used by listeners who care what reaches their DAC. They want lossless and hi-res streaming, a store for buying downloads, and full credits and editorial writing that the bigger platforms treat as an afterthought. If you mostly listen on Bluetooth earbuds on a bus, you are paying for resolution you will not hear.
Its other job is running hi-fi systems. Qobuz Connect lets the app send music straight to compatible streamers, but on some hardware the rollout is still unfinished, and Sonos users were still asking about it in mid-2026. Don't assume your speaker is on the list.
What changed this year
February 2026: CarPlay got an overhaul, adding shuffle, direct access to albums and artists, genre filtering and Siri voice control.
May 2026: industry press named Qobuz one of the fastest-growing music platforms. It reported revenue growth of 45.7% for 2025, far ahead of the wider paid streaming market. The niche service is no longer that niche.
July 2026: a redesigned player on iOS and Android brought real-time synced lyrics with translations, a better play queue and an Explore section for related music.
September 2026: Qobuz began labelling tracks it identifies as AI-generated and keeps them out of its editorial playlists and features. If you are tired of synthetic filler on other services, this is a real reason to switch.
Shared seat or your own account?
Qobuz's family plans are meant for people who live in the same household. A shared seat bought from a reseller can conflict with those terms. The risk is real: the seat can be removed or the account suspended, your playlists and favourites can go with it, and Qobuz itself owes you nothing.
A shared plan suits someone who wants to find out whether hi-res matters to their ears before committing. Pay full price if you have built a large library, run a hi-fi system through Qobuz Connect, buy downloads, or simply need an account in your own name that nobody else controls.
Before you buy
Find out whether you get your own login and your own library, or credentials that other people also use.
Read the seller's replacement and refund policy for a seat that stops working partway through the term.
Check that your streamer, DAC or car system actually supports Qobuz and the resolution you want.
Keep a backup copy of your playlists somewhere else, so losing the seat doesn't wipe out years of curation.

How we read these
Every figure here is read from the seller's own page when the site is built, and stamped with the date it was read. Nothing is estimated and nothing is carried over from yesterday. When a price cannot be read, the row says so instead of showing a zero.
