What it is

F1 TV is the official F1 streaming platform, offering fans live HD races, replays, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content—anytime, anywhere.

F1 TV in 2026 is a second screen, not a TV channel

People don't open F1 TV just to see the race. They open it for what broadcasters skip: onboard cameras for every driver, live timing and the data channel, the full replay archive, and the support series, meaning F2, F3, F1 Academy and Porsche Supercup. Where live racing is included, Pro and Premium cover every practice, qualifying session, sprint and grand prix. Premium adds 4K HDR.

If all you want is the race on the sofa, your local broadcaster may already cover it. F1 TV is for people who want to choose the camera themselves.

What changed this season

March 2026: F1 TV added Japanese commentary with a localised interface and Latin American F1 Live commentary, and launched Pro and Premium in South Korea. In the US, F1 TV is no longer sold on its own. It now comes inside an Apple TV subscription.

March 2026: the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian rounds were cancelled because of the war in the Middle East, cutting the calendar to 22 races. That means fewer race weekends for the same subscription.

July 2026: F1's half-year review called the Apple deal a success but gave no US audience figures.

August 2026: Samba TV data showed steep falls in US household reach since the move away from ESPN. Critics pointed out that Samba can't see viewing on Apple devices. September 2026: Apple raised its subscription price anyway.

Who a shared plan suits, and who should pay full price

First, the risk. F1 TV's terms forbid sharing passwords or letting anyone else use your account. For breaches, F1 can suspend or end access, and it can do so without a refund. A shared plan conflicts with those terms, so you are buying access the rights holder can switch off. Weigh that before you buy, and don't treat it as a loophole.

A shared plan suits the replay-and-onboards crowd: people who catch up on Monday, dig through the archive, or follow F2 and F3 at odd hours. Stream limits can lock you out while someone else is watching, and that hurts less when you watch off-peak.

Pay full price if you watch every session live, want Premium's 4K, would be furious to lose the feed on lap 40, or live in the US, where F1 TV now comes through Apple TV.

Before you buy: four checks

Region: whether live races appear on F1 TV depends on the country. Where a local broadcaster has exclusive rights, the live feed may be missing. Find out which region the account belongs to.

Tier: Pro and Premium are different products. If you're buying for 4K HDR, confirm which one you're getting.

Streams: ask how many people share the account and what happens when two of them want to watch the same race.

Timing and fallback: the 2026 season is in its final stretch. Count the weekends left, and ask what the seller does if the account is suspended.
